As singles, one major area we need to work on is our character. This is not just for marriage alone but for the fulfillment of purpose too.
Character is the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual. They could be formed from our inherent personalities (temperaments) or our environment.
Your character defines you. It's an important aspect of our lives that should be worked on if we want to really make progress in life. You can never push character aside if you want your marriage to work or if you want to fulfill purpose. Infact that's one of the major areas the Holy Spirit will help you work on. You might be a beautiful babe or an handsome dude, but with bad character🤔, you ain't going far!

In Genesis 24, Abraham sent his servant to get a wife for Isaac. The servant left with ten camels ND they travelled 1931 kilometers to get to Haran, Abraham's hometown. One of the confirmations Eliezar wanted was someone who could quench his thirst and that of his camels seeing how far they had travelled.😳😳
Wait a minute!!! I don't have an issue with giving you water to drink. But do you know how much quantity of water a single camel drinks? And we are talking about ten camels here. Hold on and let me break it down for you so you would understand what Rebekah did.
A typical camel can drink 200 liters (53 gallons) of water in three minutes. That means ten camels will need 530 gallons of water. How was Rebekah able to fetch them? What made her willing to give water to the camel because she actually offered to help. If she wasn't properly groomed, do you think she would have offered to do that? Absolutely NO!
Before Rebekah met Eliezer, she had built a lot of qualities that qualified her the moment they were needed. Aside the fact that she was very fair and beautiful and that she was a virgin, she could go to the well to fetch water. Applying that to our everyday life, she was good with house chores.
House chores is one of the important ingredients that builds character. This is because it teaches the value of hard work and responsibility. All of these builds a certain level of character in you.
My dear sister in the Lord and brother in Christ, do not be ashamed to wash the plate in your house or wash the toilet.
Personally I think you need humility and patience to be able to wash the toilet, depending on where you live😂.
She was strong and hardworking. She was hospitable and she was willing to serve. She wasn't just willing to serve the man. She was also willing to serve his animals too. She must have served water a number of times to her father's camels that she didn't have to worry about helping a stranger do the same. She was used to it.

Rachael didn't have the capacity to feed those camels? Would she have been disqualified?
Rebekah had worked on her character that God could proudly send her the very moment Eliezar made the prayer because God knew that she was capable.
Ladies and Gentle guys, you might not have to give camels drink today but what about God's people? How prepared are you to serve God's people? How prepared are you to serve the man or the woman God will be bringing into your life? How prepared are you to serve every single person God brings your way on the path to fulfilling purpose?
Are you going to persevere till you see that every hungry and thirsty soul is filled with the amount of God their Spirit longs for?
How much of love has been worked in your Spirit or are you going to get angry when this people you are trying to help to stand keeps falling over 'little sins'?
How much of patience do you have in you or are you path of those "this is how I am" people that don't tolerate nonsense.
How submissive are you to your parents and those around you or you just take orders from God and humans are not qualified to talk to you?
How much of long-suffering has been worked in you that can help you endure suffering for long without complains or you would get tired and give up?
How much of humility have you worked in you or you are part of those who talks only with the Angels every second and don't listen to human corrections?
Can you serve ten camels?
It will take strength, humility, patience and grace to serve them and you need these qualities. This is beyond marriage alone. This is also about purpose
Philipians 2.5 - Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6 - Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7 - But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8 - And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
I know the thought in your heart right now is how to build this qualities in you.
The Holy Spirit is the greatest help we need in this area. Ask him to help you. Talk to him about your lazy attitude, your anger, your laxity in getting things done, your ability to give up easily, talk to him about all of those characters you want to give up. He will help you and take you through the process of improving on them. That's His specialty. He can work the fruit of the Spirit in you. It will take a long process but trust him to help you.
Your character, which is the mental and moral qualities that defines is a great help in making your marriage work and in fulfilling purpose.
You can serve a million camels. You just need to build the capacity and qualities needed to serve them.
